michael_kaplan_esqMichael L. Kaplan is licensed to practice law in the New York State Courts, the New Jersey State Courts, the Federal Courts for both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the Federal Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Supreme Court.

Martindale-Hubbell has given Mr. Kaplan its “Distinguished” rating in Legal Knowledge, Analytical Capabilities, Judgment, Communication Ability and Legal Experience as well as its very high ethical standard rating. Martindale-Hubbell’s ratings are generated from legal evaluations by other attorneys.

Michael L. Kaplan is a member of the prestigious National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association where he is also a member of its Trusts and Estates Law and Elder Law Sections and the Brooklyn Bar Association.

Mr. Kaplan has more than 30 years experience in the areas of Estate Planning, Trusts and Estates, Estate Litigation, Elder Law including protection of assets, Medicaid Planning, Medicaid Applications,  Real Estate Practice,  and family matters. In addition to representing numerous clients in these areas, Michael L. Kaplan is regularly appointed by the courts as a “Guardian Ad Litem” to represent persons who are unable to adequately represent themselves, due to age or incapacity. Mr. Kaplan regularly gives presentations to community groups about estate planning and elder law.

Michael L. Kaplan is a graduate of Brooklyn College  and Pace University School of Law.
